2016 Review | Vancouver Family Photographer

So 2016. Nice knowing you. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t glad that we’ve said goodbye to a real stinker of a year. And I don’t intend to spend any more time dwelling on it or listing off all the loss and heartbreak that went down in the world last year. A simple Google search can do that for you.

Instead, I’ll share with you a few of my highlights. I’m thankful for the growth I’ve seen in myself and my work over the last year. There was a time not too long ago that I would feel sheepish saying that, but I’m working on claiming and celebrating victories I’ve earned, no matter how small. I second shot two weddings (thanks Jess On Photography), refreshed my website, landed my first corporate gig (thanks PNI Media), learned DSLR video, got accepted as a contributing artist at Offset, attended my first photography conference, and took enough photos during the summer to have an album made and printed. I’m also lucky for the people I call my friends and family, especially the three faces I wake up to every day. I get to do what I do here because of them.

And of course, I’m ever so grateful for all the families and local businesses I was able to work with in 2016. So many wonderful faces that make mine light up when I look at these photos below. I learn so much from each and every session and am a better person and photographer for it. So thank YOU, for sharing your hearts with me.

Now let’s go get 2017.
