Boy moms. I’m one and I have a soft spot for them. Especially for my girlfriend Bonnie who moved all the way to Australia four years ago. She was the one I went to with all my pregnancy questions and woes, the one that lent me all of her baby stuff, the one that hosted big playdates at her house while making lunch for everyone without batting an eye. She makes everything look easy and I often wonder if she really is that cool and collected or if she’s more like me – barely holding it together under the surface. Hee.
Obviously, I miss having her in the same area code and I’m bummed that our kids don’t get to play together on the regular. So when she came back for a friend’s wedding in May, we made sure to plan a few playdates for our kids and a quick photo session in between all the fun.
And um, these boys are gonna be trouble. LOOK AT THEIR FACES.
My heart is full when I look at these. Sounds cheesy, but it’s true. Obviously Bonnie and Troy are adorable together (hello, no one told them to hold hands, they did that all on their own!), but seeing one of my dearest girlfriends so happy, loving, and playful makes my heart swell. Knowing how much she does for her family and friends while raising three boys is an inspiration. Where she finds the time to train for marathons while juggling everyone’s schedules is beyond me. She gardens, she pickles, heck, she probably handmade these clothes for her kids. It’s no wonder why her guys love her so. And why I do too.
Boy moms. I’m telling you, they’re all kindsa awesome. And this one might be the most awesomest of all.
